My roomate and I have been smelling a horrific mildewy smell for the past couple of months. We only smell it after our suitemate takes a shower, so we’re not sure if it has anything to do with the mold, but we blew it off. Today my roomate finally decided to clean the shower and when she lifted up the mat she found the underside to be completely covered with “black mold“. We cleaned it thouroughly with what we had, but I was wondering how harmful it might be to us.

Hi, in the long run mold of any kind and color is very bad to breath in. Use the homemade Mold remover. Borax is a natural mold retardant. If you live in an area where the humidity levels are high, try adding a cupful to your soapy water whenever you wash down the walls. 1/2 cup borax 1/2 cup vinegar 1 cup water In a spray bottle, combine the ingredients and spray generously on black moldy surfaces. Wipe clean with a damp sponge. You might want to invest in a good air purifier too, and a fan in the bathroom. Hope that helps, good luck

There is a test that you could take a home, and it says to prick your finger to get a blood sample. But I’m a bit afraid to prick my finger. I was wondering if there was another spot on the body to get a blood sample or than the finger. Is there a reason why you’re to prick your finger? It’s still the correct blood sample no matter what part of the body it comes from, right?

I do HIV testing and when I run a test similar to what you are talking about it is easiest to clean the finger, prick it with the Lanette, draw a drop of blood, using a gauze wipe to blood away and the press again to get a few drops of blood for the collection.

BUT I would suggest going to a clinic or HIV/AIDS service organization to get tested, some have a test that you run a paddle across your gum in your mouth and can get the necessary sample. And these places are usually free, and totally confidential.
