Teen who has been binge drinking since age 14?

July 15th, 2010 by admin

Teen is 18 now. What tests could be done to check the damage done from teen binge drinking? What/where would the damage likely to be?  PS: I am not talking about myself (I know this is a stupid thing to do). I know how some people get on this judging you lol.

You can do a liver profile to check the liver enzymes to make sure it’s functioning correctly. An echocardiogram can detect any damage done to the heart (such as alcoholic cardiomyopathy). Kidney function tests can be used to check for kidney failure. Lipid profiles would be in order as well…excessive drinking can throw of the triglycerides. Psychiatric tests could be used to check cognitive function. Hope this helps….
